Redbacks come up empty-handed
PERTH Redbacks had a difficult weekend at home, losing all their games during double headers on Friday and Sunday.
The Friday night Women’s SBL action began at Belmont Oasis with the Joondalup City Wolves scoring an important seven-point victory over the Redbacks.
Chelsea Belcher top-scored for the Lady Wolfpack with 18 points and three rebounds on shooting 7-of-15 from the field, 2-of-4 from threepoint range and 2-of-2 at the line.
Emilee Harmon ended up with 16 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Redbacks.
Gabby Clayton added 13 points, five boards and four assists, and Bianca Donovan nine points and four rebounds.
In the Men’s SBL, the Wolves defeated the Redbacks by 12 points.
The Wolfpack got off to a fast start with 21 points to 12 in the opening quarter before the Redbacks hit back in the second term to be back within two by half-time.
But the Wolves set up the win in the third term with 24 points to 13 points.
On Sunday, the Redbacks lost to the Stirling Senators by seven points in the Women’s SBL while the men’s team lost to the Senators by 10 points.
