Emerg­ing artists’ chance to shine

CEL­E­BRAT­ING its 15th year, the City of South Perth’s 2017 Emerg­ing Artist Award is now open for en­tries.

This an­nual award of­fers up­com­ing artists and arts stu­dents an op­por­tu­nity to ex­hibit their work to the wider com­mu­nity, as well as a chance to share in $9,000 of cash prizes.

Selected works will be on show in the City of South Perth Com­mu­nity Hall from Septem­ber 22 to 30.

Vis­i­tors to the ex­hi­bi­tion will have the chance to vote for their favourite piece and pur­chase art­works.

Art­works can be submitted in a range of me­dia in­clud­ing paint­ing and pho­tog­ra­phy.

This year’s judges are Curtin Univer­sity Fine Art School of De­sign and Art course co-or­di­na­tor Mark Parfitt, artist Judy Rogers and artist and cu­ra­tor Neil El­liot.
