Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

KALE, lettuce, silverbeet, coriander and parsley – Rivervale’s community garden is flourishing.

The community gardeners are on to their second harvest at the garden in Wilson Park, keeping a keen eye out for their broad beans to come through.

Belmont Community Growers president Sandra Maynard said since its establishment earlier this year, the garden and its supporters had been going from strength to strength.

“The dog walkers who use the park have expressed their pleasure in seeing the garden develop,” Ms Maynard said.

All are welcome to come and find out more about the local project and how to get involved.

“Our monthly gatherings are on the first Sunday of each month and it’s wonderful to have community members turn up and join in our chats and, once they join, our harvests,” Ms Maynard said.

Information on how to join the community gardeners can be found on the beds or by visiting communitygrowers.org.
