WEMBLEY police have been investigating a series of burglaries at business premises in the Subiaco area during April. On July 11, eight burglaries were also carried out in the Cottesloe, Claremont, Mosman Park and Peppermint Grove areas. On July 16, six burglaries were further carried out on commercial premises in the Nedlands area. An operation was initiated and on July 19 police executed a search warrant at an address in Bentley. It will be alleged items seized during the warrant included items associated with the burglaries, such as a sledgehammer, crow bar and items suspected as having been stolen during the burglaries. A 34-year-old man of Bentley has been subsequently charged with six counts of burglary with intent, five counts of attempted burglary with intent, possessing prohibited drugs (cannabis and methylamphetamine), possessing drug paraphernalia, and five counts of stealing.
