Donate to help homeless this winter

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

WINTER is the toughest time of the year for the state’s homeless, prompting calls by Anglicare WA for donations to its annual Winter Appeal.

“There are many reasons why people become homeless, but for most it’s the fact that they feel safer on the streets than at home,” Anglicare WA chief executive Ian Carter said.

About 10,000 people in WA are sleeping rough every night and 1200 are attending school or pre-school.

Every week on average, Anglicare WA helps 25 victims of domestic violence, 50 people experiencing housing stress, 150 people in financial stress and 270 people with relationships problems.
