A message from your Mayor
It’s been an exciting number of months with many important decisions being made as a result of community consultation. The Town’s Strategic Community Plan (SCP) has been endorsed and will now be used to guide Council’s values, vision and mission from now until 2032. Our values - proactive, integrity, innovative, caring - will continue to push us beyond ordinary. Our vision - a dynamic place for everyone - is focused on the future and represents a source of inspiration. This vision will guide us in striving to ensure we are Perth’s most empowered and engaged community, we are Perth’s premier place for entertainment and entrepreneurship and we lead in sustainability. The Town is also committed to putting people first in urban design and safety and ensuring we are inclusive and connected with a thriving community. Check out the full SCP on our website. In addition to the SCP, the Social Infrastructure Plan and the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan have been drafted and are now available for community feedback. Be sure to visit vicpk.co/SIPDAIP to have a look at these plans and share your comments. is a new initiative on our events calendar which is based on sustainability. The event will be delivered by a different community group each month aimed at promoting positive behaviour change in our community. Think plastic free living, backyard permaculture, investing in keep cups, composting, how to reduce your carbon footprint and you’re getting the gist. The first event is scheduled for 27 September, like us on Facebook to make sure you keep updated.
