Favourable viewing

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

RIVERVALE’S Bilya Kard Boodja Lookout has just landed a top prize for its cultural ties and water views.

The City of Belmont’s installation took out the cultural heritage landscape architecture award at the 2017 WA Institute of Landscape Architects Awards.

The lookout on Tanunda Drive was lauded for its extensive community involvement, dramatic views across the Swan River, and strong respect for Aboriginal culture and heritage.

It is the City’s first park with an officially adopted Aboriginal name. Bilya means river, kard means hill, and boodja translates to land or country.
