Holiday fun nearer to nature
KIDS of all ages can discover the world of winter wetland dwellers at the Canning River Eco Education Centre these school holidays.
The program, called Nearer to Nature, run by the Department of Parks and Wildlife, boasts a host of activities for children of all ages.
Frog forage, on Saturday July 11, is for ages six and over, and takes participants on an evening hunt for some common frogs, walking through some common frog habitats as well as identifying frog calls.
Another popular activity, Deadly and Dangerous, is suitable for ages seven to 12, and will be held on Thursday July 9, where children will get the chance to learn about some dangerous species.
Program co-ordinator Jill Francis said a cute and fun activity for younger children, aged four to seven, called Snugglegum and Cuddlenut, is sure to delight.
The activity takes kids into the bush to collect special nuts, twigs and leaves to turn into craft, and will take place on Tuesday July 14.
“Every child involved in the session will make gumnut babies and a cute bag to take home,” Ms Francis said. Queens Park Road, Wilson COST: Varies depending on activity BOOKINGS/ENQUIRIES: 9295 2244
