LOCAL SALES STILL STRONG
DESPITE a small drop in reported sales by REIWA members for the four weeks to June 22 across the Southern Gazette region, activity remains 3 per cent above the same time last year. Local house sales increased marginally, offsetting a fall in multi-unit activity. By comparison, the overall Perth market experienced a 4 per cent fall in sales and is 13 per cent below the same period last year. The top selling suburbs for the four weeks changed, with Victoria Park entering the list at the expense of Cloverdale. Local property listed for sale dropped 4 per cent for the four weeks but remains 36 per cent up on the same period last year. It is a similar story for the overall Perth market, where listings fell by 2 per cent for the period and remain 30 per cent above the level seen this time last year. Average selling days for the area have lifted from 53 days last year to 77.
