Foundation finds home
THE Wirrpanda Foundation has received a grant of $2 million from Lotterywest to assist in the construction of its new head office in Lathlain.
Located alongside the West Coast Eagles Football Club, the building is part of the Lathlain precinct redevelopment project and will provide a new purpose-built facility to support core administration facilities and include culturally complementary landscaped gardens and an amphitheatre.
Wirrpanda Foundation director David Wirrpanda said the announcement of the Lotterywest funding was an important step forward for the foundation.
“The foundation opened its doors in 2005 and has since been housed in a number of temporary locations,” he said.
“The funding is exciting as it helps to provide us with a permanent home to ensure we can continue to deliver our programs and work in the community.”
