CHOOS­ING Hope is an ini­tia­tive from Bears

of Hope and wel­comes any­one who has been ei­ther di­rectly or in­di­rectly im­pacted by mis­car­riage, still­birth or neona­tal death. The event will be held on Sir James Mitchell Park from 3pm to 5pm on Oc­to­ber 15. Join Bears of Hope for this beau­ti­ful re­mem­brance event to ac­knowl­edge and hon­our the life and loss of ba­bies, as well as sup­port be­reaved fam­i­lies in a com­mu­nity set­ting. It in­cor­po­rates a walk fol­lowed by a ser­vice and flower re­lease over the Swan River in mem­ory of lost ba­bies. There will also be a small se­lec­tion of amaz­ing stall­hold­ers on the day of­fer­ing per­son­alised me­men­tos for pur­chase. Adults $20, chil­dren $10 (un­der 2 free), fam­ily $45 (2 adults + 2 chil­dren) ex­tra chil­dren $5, cor­po­rate (610 peo­ple) $15 each.

STAR Wars Reads Day re­turns in cel­e­bra­tion of a gal­axy far, far away and the joy of read­ing. Vic­to­ria Park Li­brary will par­tic­i­pate in the sixth an­nual in­stall­ment of this global event on Oc­to­ber 7 be­tween 1pm and 2pm. There will be sto­ry­telling, ac­tiv­i­ties and the op­por­tu­nity to have your photo taken with your favourite Star Wars char­ac­ter. Dress up in Star Wars gear and go in the run­ning to win a prize. Book­ings can be made on the Town of Vic­to­ria Park’s web­site.
