Feather your nest with bird walk through wetlands
TO celebrate BirdLife Australia’s National Bird Week and Aussie Backyard Bird Count, the City of South Perth environment officers will lead a free guided walk along the unique Waterford foreshore through parklands and remnant wetlands to observe and record birds.
The event starts at 9am on October 29 at Curtin University Boat Club in Salter Point and information gathered during the survey will be sent to BirdLife Australia and will be used in their ongoing monitoring programs.
Participants can expect to observe up to 40 species in the area including osprey, black swans, grebes and great egret.
The walk is approximately 3km on sealed pathways and suitable for people with a general level of fitness.
Families and children (supervised) are encouraged to attend.
Register for the event on the City’s website.
