Town gets grants for road up­grades

THE Town of Vic­to­ria Park has re­ceived grants worth more than $860,000 from Main Roads Western Aus­tralia to im­prove the safety of its roads and com­plete road as­phalt resur­fac­ing works.

The grants are part of the State Gov­ern­ment’s Black Spot and Lo­cal Roads Pro­grams.

The ma­jor­ity of projects to be funded as part of th­ese pro­grams will be com­pleted dur­ing the 2017-18 fi­nan­cial year.

Black Spot road safety projects will be com­pleted near the in­ter­sec­tion of Roberts Road and Or­rong Road, and the in­ter­sec­tions of Tem­ple Street and Hordern Street, and Hil­lview Ter­race and Al­bany High­way.

Road as­phalt resur­fac­ing will be com­pleted on Ber­wick Street be­tween Sus­sex and Bas­ing­hall Streets, Al­bany High­way be­tween Dun­can Street and Ted­ding­ton Street, and on sec­tions of Bolton Av­enue.

Res­i­dents and busi­nesses in the af­fected and sur­round­ing ar­eas will be no­ti­fied of the works be­fore they start.
