PERTH de­feated Fre­man­tle in an im­por­tant fix­ture to get its sea­son back on track.

Af­ter the De­mons posted 208 dur­ing the pre­vi­ous weekend, both teams were miss­ing play­ers to State du­ties but Perth bowled out Fre­man­tle for 183, with Sean Roberts, Liam Guthrie and Alex Calmy all tak­ing three wick­ets.

In the lower grades, it was pleas­ing to see the young De­mons bat for long pe­ri­ods to get vic­tory.

In the sec­ond-grade match, Con­nor Smith com­piled 97 (230 balls) and Joel Cur­tis made 62 to give their side a com­fort­able win fin­ish­ing at 4-264.

A pa­tient 62 from Rhys McVeigh got Perth home in the Thirds as Bren­ton Wil­liams had an­other fine all-round game.

The fourth-grade side did not have enough runs on the board but un­der-17 play­ers Mar­tyn Bernardino and Ja­iah Moore got to ex­pe­ri­ence se­nior cricket and col­lected some wick­ets.
