Ro­tary hall to go

THE beloved home of South Perth Bur­swood Ro­tary Club, the Ro­tary Hall on Sandgate Street, South Perth will be de­mol­ished early next month .

South Perth Bur­swood and Como Ro­tary Clubs will share a room at Ernest John­son Re­serve from Jan­uary 31. South Perth Bur­swood Ro­tary pres­i­dent Jan Teas­dale said plan­ning was in place for an aware­ness event, World of Ro­tary, to be held at the club’s new home in John McGrath Pav­il­ion.

“This is an ex­cit­ing time for Ro­tary and com­mu­nity groups as they com­mence a new be­gin­ning,” she said.

The Ro­tary Hall, which formed part of the Kens­ing­ton Col­lier Her­itage Trail, has been val­ued among South Perth com­mu­nity mem­bers since its es­tab­lish­ment in 1963.
