Healthy heroes in work­place

HERO En­gi­neer­ing manag­ing di­rec­tor Phil Tod­kill be­lieves healthy ini­tia­tives in a work­place make em­ploy­ees want to come to work each day.

The Bel­mont-based or­gan­i­sa­tion was among 12 WA small busi­nesses awarded a $1000 grant from Health­ier Work­place WA, which it will use to­wards a bike rack, lock­ers, in­door clothes line, Smart Riders and a fruit box.

Mr Tod­kill said he had al­ways tried to sup­port healthy and en­vi­ron­men­tally-friendly ini­tia­tives around the of­fice.

“I think em­ploy­ees ap­pre­ci­ate it when you put in some ef­fort and it’s not just the phys­i­cal Healthy ap­proach... Hero En­gi­neer­ing manag­ing di­rec­tor Phil Tod­kill. side, it’s also help­ing im­prove peo­ple’s mind­set,” he said.

“Peo­ple will then take less sick leave and will be more pro­duc­tive and hap­pier.”

Carlisle busi­ness Ex En­gi­neer­ing and River­vale busi­ness Clean En­ergy Fu­els Aus­tralia also re­ceived grants.
