Healthy heroes in workplace
HERO Engineering managing director Phil Todkill believes healthy initiatives in a workplace make employees want to come to work each day.
The Belmont-based organisation was among 12 WA small businesses awarded a $1000 grant from Healthier Workplace WA, which it will use towards a bike rack, lockers, indoor clothes line, Smart Riders and a fruit box.
Mr Todkill said he had always tried to support healthy and environmentally-friendly initiatives around the office.
“I think employees appreciate it when you put in some effort and it’s not just the physical Healthy approach... Hero Engineering managing director Phil Todkill. side, it’s also helping improve people’s mindset,” he said.
“People will then take less sick leave and will be more productive and happier.”
Carlisle business Ex Engineering and Rivervale business Clean Energy Fuels Australia also received grants.
