SOUTH East Metropolitan Response officers charged a man in relation to an incident on January 27, in which a dog received serious injuries. Police were called to a residence in Rason Place about 2am, with the caller stating a man had allegedly stabbed a dog. The dog had been taken to the safety of another nearby residence and police attended both locations. A man was taken into custody at the scene of the incident and officers attending the second location found a dog with multiple injuries consistent with stab wounds. The attending police officers took the injured dog to a vet so it could receive emergency treatment. The dog was stabilised and the vet confirmed the dog had received stab wound injuries to its head, left shoulder and left torso. A 39-year-old man from Redcliffe has been charged with animal cruelty, being armed in a way that may cause fear and breach of bail. He was refused bail and appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on January 27. He is next scheduled to appear in the same court on Thursday, February 15.
