Groove to South Perth Sounds

Southern Gazette (Victoria Park) - - News -

SOUTH Perth is set to fire up next week for its annual community concert South Perth Sounds.

Hosted by the City of South Perth, the free concert on February 24 from 4pm to 8.30pm at Sir James Mitchell Park will feature the Perth Symphony Orchestra and the WAAPA Gospel Choir as they combine to perform Faith and Freedom: the music of George Michael.

The concert follows a sell-out performance earlier this year at the Astor Theatre in Mt Lawley.

Perth Symphony Orchestra executive director Bourby Webster said Faith and Freedom aimed to show those new to, and familiar with, orchestra concerts just how versatile and groovy orchestral musicians could be.

South Perth Sounds will also feature children’s activities, roving entertainment, art, gourmet food vendors and fireworks to end the evening.
