Choir classes for chil­dren launched

MU­SIC teacher and choir coach Sue Ross last week launched Choir4Kids in South Perth.

Mrs Ross be­gan her mu­si­cal ca­reer when she was five and has since been per­son­ally in­volved in var­i­ous choirs and or­ches­tras, as well as lead­ing and coach­ing singers and choirs across Perth.

Her achieve­ments in­clude lead­ing the adult Born to Sing choirs who per­formed at the Perth Fringe Fes­ti­val.

In 2015-16 Mrs Ross gave up her job as a pri­mary school teacher but said it was not long be­fore her friends were beg­ging her to teach their chil­dren af­ter school.

Choir4Kids teaches chil­dren aged three to 13 years the tech­niques re­quired to suc­ceed in any type of per­for­mance through group ac­tiv­i­ties and song.

The af­ter-school classes will run every Wed­nes­day at John Mc­Grath Hall dur­ing the school term.
