Drink driving in golf cart
A 39 year-old man has been charged with drink driving, after allegedly driving a golf cart while over the legal bloodalcohol limit.
Police observed a golf cart being driven west on Wiruna St, Barooga about 7.30pm on Friday.
Police stopped the cart and spoke to the driver, and subsequently administered a roadside breath test which they allege returned a positive reading.
The man was arrested and taken to Tocumwal Police Station where police recorded a breath analysis reading of 0.098.
He was charged with mid range prescribed content of alcohol and had his Victorian driver’s licence suspended pending a court appearance.
The man was also charged with driving an unregistered vehicle on a road.
A 29 year-old woman previously disqualified from driving until 2034 was stopped when allegedly driving in Tocumwal last Thursday, according to police.
Police stopped a car on the Newell Hwy at Tocumwal about 2.30pm on Thursday, and reportedly recognised the woman.
When asked, she produced a Victorian learner’s licence.
Police checks confirmed the previous disqualification of a NSW driver’s licence, which they say also restricted her from applying for or obtaining a licence in another state.
The woman was charged with driving while disqualified and ordered to appear in Finley court.
