Learn in play
Berrigan Children’s Centre is the place to go for that special early childhood learning environment, with experienced caring staff who ensure children come first, natural playgrounds and well-resourced rooms.
The community based, not-for-profit centre offers quality care for children from six weeks-old to five years, as well as after school care and vacation care programs for children aged 6 to 12.
The centre operates two separate rooms — 0-3 years room and the 3-5 preschool room — with each one offering age related educational, play based learning experiences, both indoors and outside in our amazing natural KinderGarden.
‘‘Berrigan Children’s Centre is a special place where children’s interests are nurtured in an environment where they learn through their play,’’ centre director Rachelle Cahill said.
‘‘We have numerous programs, including our school readiness program, Play to Learn, which has a focus on teaching literacy and numeracy.
‘‘We also have a range of excursion and incursions throughout the year across all ages.’’
The infants and toddlers don’t miss out with a challenging, independent early learning program offered by experienced early childhood educators, with their own space that is designed for the little people to grow and learn.
The centre has recently welcomed new early childhood teacher, Kerry Lazzarotto, to the team. Kerry is working with the 3-5 years children, three days a week.
She has a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma of Teaching.
‘‘Kerry has been welcomed into the team and will be an asset to the Centre and the children’s learning across all ages,’’ Mrs Cahill said.
‘‘We encourage all families who are looking at child care or for the preschool program, to please visit our centre at any time.
‘‘This gives families an opportunity to ask any questions, in addition to getting a feel of what we are all about and an ideal time to meet the staff. Please do not hesitate to give us a call to arrange a suitable appointment time.’’
Enrolments are taken as necessary. Please call into the centre at 17-19 Stewart St, Berrigan or call (03) 5885 2324.
