Southern Riverina news - - SPORT -

Reserves: The twos match was hotly contested with third placed Berrigan playing fourth placed Deni Rovers, with the visitors prevailing in a thrilling two point win.

Matt Cameron was named best afield with his run and carry around the ground while Steve Morgan took home the mug for his grunt work around the stoppages. Stuart Pyle was again unstoppable up forward, kicking three goals, and seems to be enjoying life down there.

James Morrow was again consistent around the field while big man Ryan Flynn was workmanlike around the packs. Craig Glanvill rounded out the best players with his typical Jarman-like abilities.

Thirds: The thirds had a slow start against a focused opposition, with the Rovers running away with a 95 point win.

Kept scoreless in the first half, the Saints took a while to get into the game.

Brad Loats had a fantastic game, being a strong player up and down the ground.

Mason Peters and Fraser Haintz again were Berrigan’s better players in what was a tough day.

Fourths: The fourths also had a tough day against Rovers, going down by 108 points.

The Saints came up against a much stronger and bigger side, and were unable to hit the scoreboard. Darcy Pyle played a great game for Berrigan along with Matt Whelan, Max Cameron and James Curtin. Caleb Thornton was awesome in defence with tough tackling taking on the big forwards.

Ethan Rickard looks to control the ball on Saturday.
