Three Dees in grand final

Southern Riverina news - - SPORT -

Jerilderie C grade will take on Picola in the grand final on Saturday at 2pm at Blighty Recreation Reserve.

Picola finished first on the ladder this year but the Demons easily knocked them off by 20 goals two weeks ago in a final.

‘‘I’m confident, however the game could go either way,’’ C grade coach Elisha Conn said.

‘‘We don’t have key players, all of the girls contribute equally.’’

Jerilderie’s Under 17s have had a great season in 2017, topping it off with a spot in the Grand Final.

The side shows an incredible depth in their capabilities on court, utilising the ability to switch positions to match their opponents of the day.

There has been much improvement throughout the season, working on footwork, ball placement, movement in the ring and strength in defence.

Showing a new level of courage, commitment and game skills, this final will test the Demons’ strength as a team.

Believe in yourselves, believe in your team, support each other and give everything you have — Jerilderie is very proud of you all.

The 17s play Strathmerton at Blighty on Saturday at 11am, while the thirds footballers meet Picola at 10.15am.

Sam Catena is the coach of the Jerilderie thirds.
