Live­stock judg­ing still very pop­u­lar

Fin­ley cel­e­brated its 100th show in style on Sun­day, Septem­ber 3 with crowds com­ing from through­out the district.

The day was full of the usual cat­tle, sheep, poul­try, horse and dog trial com­pe­ti­tions.

The main pav­il­ion showed off the highly tal­ented lo­cal bak­ers with an amaz­ing ar­ray of cakes, bis­cuits and cook­ies on dis­play.

At­ten­dees en­joyed the pop­u­lar whip crack­ing and wood chop­ping demon­stra­tions.

Many chil­dren im­mersed them­selves at side show al­ley on the dodgem cars and gi­ant in­flat­able slide.

There was plenty of food to go around with de­li­cious cakes from the Mur­ray Hut Coun­try Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion and twisted pota­toes most pop­u­lar.

In the tra­di­tional live­stock judg­ing sec­tions, lo­cal and vis­it­ing farm­ers and breed­ers rel­ished the op­por­tu­nity to go to com­pe­ti­tion against one an­other.

The friendly com­pe­ti­tions gen­er­ated much in­ter­est for the spec­ta­tors as well, and re­sults are as fol­lows.
