Taverna scores 70 in Monthly Medal win
Tocumwal Tuesday saw 28 ladies playing Stroke MM Putting that saw Division One gross going to Sandra Williams with 93.
Sandra was also the nett winner with 77.
Division Two gross was won by Robyn Taverna with 95 and also the nett with 70 which gave her the Monthly Medal.
NTPs went to Sandra Williams 14th, Jillian Collins 18th, Shellei Clark Pro Pin $25.
Men’s Gold winner on Wednesday was William Brady with 39 points on count-back from Len Redfern.
Men’s Blue comp. stableford Division One winner was Paul Olsen with 37 points on count-back from Phil Nunn.
Derek McMahon was the Division Two winner with 39, followed by Sean Gledhill 37.
Division Three went to Albert Sutton 37, runner-up was William Williams 35.
NTPs went to Paul Olsen 2nd, Stephen Nonneman 8th, Bruce Hadley Pro Pin $81.
Forty ladies and 49 men played stableford on Saturday in the Lions Charity Day that saw Jo Boak taking the trophy with 41 points on count-back from Ros Seymour.
Runner-up Cooper on 40.
Division Two went to Ros Seymour 41 points followed by Jillian Allen 38.
NTPs went to Jo Boak 2nd, Ros Seymour 18th.
Men’s Gold winner was William Brady with 40 points, while men’s Blue Division One winner was Dennis Frost 39 points on count-back from Derek McMahon.
Barry Prideaux was the Division Two winner with 40 points on count-back from Alan Michalowsky.
NTPs went to Ian Francis 2nd, Ray Watmore 18th.
Six ladies played stroke on Sunday with Trish Frost the winner with 76 nett.
Men’s Gold stroke winner was William Brady with 68 nett.
We had 60 men playing stroke Monthly Medal that saw Division One gross win going to Michael Cooper with 75, Shane Halloran took out the nett with 69 with runner-up John Crilly scoring 72.
Kenneth McCormack was the Division Two gross winner with 82, while nett winner John Simm scored 65 points to claim the Monthly Medal.
Division Three gross was Warren Yardy with 93 who also had the nett with 71 was Lindy followed by Tendeson 72.
NTPs went to Stewart Crawford 2nd, Geoff Quick 17th. William
Finley Stableford was played at the Finley Pilates & Clinical Myotheraphy men’s 18 hole comp on Wednesday when John Taylor stepped up with 39 points to claim the trophy.
Jon Munro was NTP on the 18th and balls went to Leo McNamara (36) and Trevor McCaw and Rand Wilson each with 33 points.
The Matt Daniel Plumbing NAGA Trophy was won by Martin Cruickhank.
At Thursday’s nine hole comp stroke was played and it was Barry Fahey with 28 nett who claimed the voucher and balls went to Bill Judd and Bob Makkinga each with 30.5 nett.
The N & S Pyle Mixed 4BBB Spring Cup was played on Saturday.
Jack and Maree Doyle with 47 stableford points won the cup with Sel and Jenni Corcoran, after a count-back on 46 points, taking the runner-up trophy.
In the DSK Waste Stableford event which was played for PWP, Ray Healey claimed the voucher with 41 points.
NTP on the 3rd was Colin McNamara, 6th Ray Hehir, 11th Billy Smith,13th Jenni Corcoran and on the 18th Sue Simpson.
Balls went to Ian and Heather Daniel (46), Paul Pinnuck and Sue Simpson (45), Rand Wilson and Beth White (45), Leo McNamara and Martin Piggin (40).
Grant Shaw and Kellie White claimed the NAGA Trophy.
The Hawova Holstein stroke event was played on Sunday.
Brett Shaw with 69, after count-back, was the men’s winner and also claimed the Cock of the Walk Title while Margaret Lemsing’s 65 nett gave her ladies trophy.
Ladies putting went to Sue Simpson with 28 putts.
NTP on the 18th was Mark O’Brien.
Balls went to Rand Wilson (69), Barry Fahey (70), Rick Harris (70) and Sue Simpson (72).
Alan Hand and Jenni Corcoran picked up NAGA Trophies.
At the weekend stableford will be played on Saturday and on Sunday it is the September Monthly Medal.
SR Veterans The September Southern Riverina Veterans Golf Association Competition round was played at Berrigan on Monday with 80 golfers taking part.
Stableford was played and Ian Sneddon (Jerilderie) with 37 points took the A grade trophy while Ian Hancock (Yarrawonga/Mulwala) on 36 points was runner-up.
Neil Graham (Berrigan) with 40 points after countback took B grade, whilst Tony Hardy (Cobram/Barooga) also with 40 points was runner-up.
Frank Albert (Berrigan) with 41 points took C grade along with the day’s High Score Trophy while Jeff Miller (Yarrawonga/Mulwala) on 40 points after count-back was runner-up.
A grade NTP went begging, B grade was won by Barry Gaudion (Cobram/Barooga), C grade Jeff Miller (Yarrawonga/Mulwala).
All Grades went to John Strelec (Berrigan).
Balls were awarded to players with 31 points and better.
The October SR Vets Competition is scheduled to be played at Jerilderie on Monday 9th October.
