Fundraiser a success
Finley The postponed fundraising evening for the Berriquin Toy Library and Finley Playgroup was held last Friday and was a successful evening, with $1,118 being raised.
Finley High School will be the beneficiary from the fundraiser this Friday evening.
Conditions were ideal for bowls on Sunday morning when 12 players were involved.
Winners were Betty Robinson and Ron Pentland, plus 9.
Lucky draw went to Ash Haines and Geoff Trevorrow; Allan Cowan and Graham Shumack. Nominations are still open for selectors for the coming season; add nominations to the list available on the notice board.
Following the amalgamation of players, the selectors are bound to choose the best available teams to represent the club, with the hope of pennant success.
Finley will compete in Division Three and Division Four in Saturday pennant.
There are separate selectors for Friday competition.
A touring party, of 43 men, from the Geelong area will be playing social bowls with us on Monday, September 25, with Heather making final arrangements.
Programs for the season are now available for Murray Division fixtures and the club events.
Entries are being received for the Mark 11 Automotive Triples, any combination, set down for Monday, October 3, at 1pm.
It was opening day for Murray Division on Sunday, with the northern clubs playing at Jerilderie.
A list is available for players to visit Berrigan Club next Sunday, September 17 for its opening day.
Friday Members Draw has accumulated to $880.
The draw takes place after the raffles.

Tocumwal Sunday saw a group of bowlers hit the greens for the opening day of the season.
Conditions over the last few weeks have been difficult to say the least and the winner of the day was ‘sunshine’.
We welcomed Betty Harrop who has just turned 90 and is now officially our oldest current player.
Our pennant teams will be travelling to Rich River on Saturday September 16.
All pennant players and bowlers interested in pennant are welcome to represent our club in this friendly match. The bus will be leaving at 10am sharp.

Men’s Trade Day at Nathalia saw four Tocumwal teams entered and at the Inaugural Ladies Trade Day at Cobram we also had four Tocumwal teams.
