Suspicious house fire
Police are investigating what they have deemed to be a suspicious fire at an unoccupied property in Coree St, Finley on Sunday morning.
Finley NSW Fire & Rescue was called to the property at 12.30am after a neighbour raised the alarm.
Firefighters took 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, which caused heavy smoke damage.
Neither police or fire authorities were able to provide further information before going to print yesterday.
A Batlow man has been charged with numerous offences after allegedly stealing a car and a number of other items from a Jerilderie business.
Police allege the 28 year-old scaled the fence of the Mahonga St business.
He is then alleged to have loaded a number of items into a vehicle belonging to the business, prior to ramming it through secure fencing and driving away.
The stolen vehicle was later located dumped in Jerilderie St, Jerilderie.
Investigations led police to a Powell St home in Jerilderie on Sunday afternoon, where they allege to have seen a man loading several items into a vehicle.
They were later discovered to be some of the items reported stolen.
The man was arrested and charged, pending a Finley Local Court appearance.
All the stolen items were recovered.
