Four ladies left in c’ship
RSC Results of the Ladies A Grade Championships are as follows:
Mary Smethurst def. Iris Reynolds, Noela Thomas def. Yvonne Scorgie, Di Retallick def. Carmel Sutcliffe, Lyn Donkin def. Karen Peacock and Mary Smethurst def. Ofelia Cochrane.
With the championship down to four bowlers, Noela Thomas will play Lyn Donkin and Di Retallick plays Mary Smethurst this week.
It was lovely to see so many players turn up for pennant practice on Sunday.
This was followed by a sausage sizzle which saw great companionship by all in attendance.
Our Saturday pennant teams will go to Tallygaroopna for a practice game on Saturday.
Tocumwal On Thursday 28th we had a group of 48 men from a number of Geelong clubs visit Tocumwal (Geelong Friendship Tour).
After the morning at our Aerodrome Museum they joined with some of our members for the afternoon.
At the end of play we were kindly presented with Logo’d wine glasses to remember their visit.
It’s always enjoyable to meet the many visitors to our club.

Club major competitions are now under way and the Men’s 100-up Final was won by Chris Philpot in a hard fought battle over Alan Jones.
The social bowling day run by the ladies has been changed from Wednesday to Monday morning 9.30am for 10am.
Gentlemen and visiting bowlers are most welcome. Always wanting to encourage new players to our great game.
Winners on Monday, September 25 were Pat Morrison, Judy Harvie, Elaine Ball and Peter Amos.
On Sunday, October 8 and 22 at 1pm. you are welcome to a Let’s Play Golf and Bowls afternoon. All equipment will be supplied and coaches will be on hand to show you how to get started. Please wear flat shoes otherwise it’s barefoot bowls.
Finley BC The Finley Bowling Club had a lovely day with Geelong bowlers last week.
Winners were Brian Anderson’s team and runnersup were Ashley Haynes’ team. Daryl Malroney’s team won the consolation prize.
Bowlers are reminded that the 55 and over day will be held at Finley BC on Tuesday with jack attack starting at 6.30pm that same evening.
Monday was a triples tournament sponsored by Mark 11 Motors Tocumwal, Greg Pyle Insurance and Peg Reid family, more about that next week.
