Finley’s next big event, FinCity Food and Music Festival, will be held for the first time this Saturday.

Featuring a host of local and regional musicians, mouthwatering food and drinks and the famed Finley Farmers’ Market, the inaugural festival will be held at Finley’s Railway Park in Endeavour St.

The event is the brainchild of the Finely for the Future Committee — a sub-committee of the Finley Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Finley Farmers’ Market Committee member and Berrigan Shire Mayor Matt Hannan said as well as being a great chance to bring the community and its visitors together, the economic benefit of the event will be positive.

‘‘We can hopefully attract people from the surrounding towns, and that can only be good for the community,’’ he said..

‘‘Finley has a lot of events on the calender such as the B ‘n’ S ball, tractor pull, rodeo, monster garage sale weekend and the Finley Show — Finley has always been an events based community and this is another one to add to the list.

Chris Shaw and Shaun Kable from Ashley Haynes Butchery will be helping other businesses and community groups to feed FinCity guests this weekend.
