Sexton a life member
Former Finley Cats netball legend Di Sexton has extended on her impressive resume by becoming a club life member.
Sexton was awarded the status at the Cats senior presentation awards evening last week for her extensive commitment to the club both as a coach, player and administrator.
She started playing for the Cats in 1990, and amassed a total of 240 games, including 200 A grade games.
She coached junior teams for 10 years and senior teams for eight.
The mid-courter won five best and fairest awards in 1991, 1993, 2005, 2006 and joint winner in 2014, and also was the runner-up in 1997, 2007 and 2010.
She was a co-ordinator of the ‘Net, Set, Go’ program for five years, which helped many of the younger players of the club develop their skills.
Sexton spent many years as a committee member between 1990 until 1998 and again from 2004 until 2012; she served as netball president in 1992.
