The count­down is on for the Ber­ri­gan Com­mu­nity Clear­ing Sale.

Please have your items for sale reg­is­tered by Au­gust 31 by see­ing ei­ther Cristina at The Book­in­chanters, Chris­tine at Aussie Coun­try Real Es­tate or by down­load­ing the reg­is­tra­tion form from­ter­in­ber­ri­ or via Face­book. All the de­tails are avail­able on­line. The sale will be held on Satur­day Septem­ber 15 at the Ber­ri­gan Show­grounds.

This fundrais­ing event is brought to you by the Ber­ri­gan and Dis­trict De­vel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion, Ber­ri­gan Com­mu­nity Gar­den and Tidy Towns and the Ber­ri­gan Lions Club who will be hav­ing a bar­be­cue on the day.

Funds raised will be go­ing to the Ber­ri­gan War Memo­rial Hos­pi­tal. We look for­ward to see­ing you there.


This year marks 300 years since Nano Na­gle founded the Pre­sen­ta­tion Sis­ters.

A spe­cial Cel­e­bra­tion Mass will be held at St Columba’s Church at 11am on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 29, fol­lowed by a bar­be­cue lunch (please bring a salad to share) at St Columba’s Pri­mary School.

There will be a Try Bowls Day held in Rand on Sun­day, Septem­ber 2.

A bus is be­ing or­gan­ised to take play­ers and is fill­ing up fast.

Cost is $20 which in­cludes bus, bowls and lunch.

The Ber­ri­gan Am­a­teur Dra­matic So­ci­ety will be per­form­ing the show at Ber­ri­gan Hall and you don’t want to miss it.

Tick­ets are on sale at Pep­pertree — you’ll get din­ner, dessert and a show all for $45 or a mati­nee ticket for $25.

The first show is on Satur­day, Au­gust 25, fol­lowed by a mati­nee on Sun­day, Au­gust 26.

The last two shows are Fri­day, Au­gust 31 and Sun­day, Septem­ber 1.

Bring your friends for the most spec­tac­u­lar fairy­tale event of the year.

Ama­roo Ladies Aux­il­iary will be hav­ing a street stall this Fri­day out­side the IGA Su­per­mar­ket. All pro­ceeds will go to­wards equip­ment for the hos­tel.


The Com­mu­nity Club is hold­ing a poker night ev­ery Wed­nes­day night start­ing at 7pm.

This Satur­day is the ‘Nashville Coun­try Le­gends’ show with Dail Paltz. Tick­ets are $25 for show and sup­per. Starts at 7.30pm.
