New role for Sussan Ley
Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley has a new role following last week’s leadership spill.
New Prime Minister Scott Morrison has assigned Ms Ley as Assistant Minister for Regional Development.
Ms Ley announced her new position at the water crisis rally in Deniliquin on Monday, saying she was pleased to represent the government on an issue she is passionate about.
Ms Ley said the new role would also ‘‘give me the heart to talk water’’.
The reshuffle has also seen former Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce brought back to the fore, as the government’s Special Envoy for Drought Assistance and Recovery. David Littleproud remains Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources.
