Saints hush Hoppers
In keeping with traditional finals conditions the weather sparked for a great netball contest when Berrigan hit out against Rennie in their B grade elimination final at Yarroweyah on Sunday.
The determined Saints were primed and took control from the first whistle of the Picola & District League clash.
Coach Natalie Ferguson in WA was cool under pressure and displayed the true definition of leadership with her fantastic second and third efforts in attacking the ball.

She was well supported by sister and seasoned player Peta in the centre, who directed the play nicely through the midcourt and Jess Schifferle in GA positioning herself well in the moments of the game where it mattered the most.
The defensive combination of Kylie Titlow and Rach Arnold in the circle was intense and both adapted to the shooters playing style well, causing many headaches and turnovers for Rennie's attacking end.
They were well supported by Temica Fitzgerald in WD, applying plenty of pressure from the centre and across the top of the circle.
To Rennie’s credit they were relentless and kept the pressure to the Saints, however the composure and experience of Berrigan rewarded them with the desired result and opportunity to fight through another week of finals. Final score, Berrigan 49 to Rennie 38. The Saints will face Jerilderie in a semi final at Rennie on Saturday.
Sadly it was the end of the road for Berrigan’s Under 17s, going down to Katunga by 24 goals at Picola on Saturday. Final score, Katunga 45 to Berrigan 21. The Saints’ season in C grade was also ended abruptly, falling to rival Jerilderie by three goals at Waaia on Saturday.
Final score, Jerilderie 43 to Berrigan 40.
