Nine children received the sacrament of First Holy Communion and four children received the sacrament of confirmation in the St Columba's Parish on Sunday, September 23.
The children have been preparing for this special occasion with weekly classes with Fr Rick Micallef during Term 3.
Family and friends of the candidates joined with parish members for a morning tea at the conclusion of mass and the all important cutting of the celebration cake made by Cara Loats.

After a term of practising the skills of golf, Berrigan Public School’s Year 5/6 students will head to the Berrigan golf course again this Friday for a game.
Thank you to Rod and Maggie for a great term of golf skill development for all our students Kindergarten to Year 6.

Unfortunately the Berrigan Community Clearing Sale, which was to be held Saturday, October 13, has been cancelled.
The Berrigan Community Golf & Bowling Club will be having a charity golf and bowls day on Sunday, October 21 with all proceeds going to MND and drought relief.
The morning will start at 10am with a nine hole, three-person Ambrose par three course.
Once the golf is finished you will head to the bowls green and play two games of eight ends, of three bowls triples.
It will be draw for teams and the same team will play golf and bowls, entry is $20 per team which includes a barbecue lunch.

This promises to be a great community day and is for all ages and everyone is encouraged to get behind this great cause.
The pool committee will be having a working bee this Saturday and Sunday, from 10am each day, and would appreciate help from anyone who can spare a couple of hours.
There will be another Dam Fishing morning on October 14 with trout and native fish to catch. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 16. A barbecue will be available during the morning.
Also the committee is looking for help to fill the canteen roster. Put your name down or call Cristina on 0429 571 988 to volunteer.
The Berrigan Community Garden is looking amazing. The committee has been harvesting broccoli, spinach, silver beet, lettuce, kale and parsley.
Take a walk and see what you can pick for your dinner, or join the group on Wednesdays at 1.30pm or Saturdays at 9.30am.
Membership is growing, and is only $5 per person. Forms can be picked up from BookInChanters or at the garden.
All proceeds from membership goes towards purchasing seeds, seedlings, seasol and many other items.
There will be a film afternoon at the Berrigan Library on Tuesday at 1.30pm.
The film is Elizabeth, The Golden Age, an Oscar award winning movie, starring Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush. Bookings can be made at the library on 5888 5180.
Kids Fest will be on again this year, on Tuesday, October 23 from 4pm-6pm.

Berrigan Tennis Club recently held its AGM and the executive committee remained unchanged with Chris Cameron as president, Steve Parr as vice president, Louise Hatty as secretary and Carolyn Alexander as treasurer.
A Grade night tennis starts Tuesday at 7.30pm.
The committee hopes to get B Grade running again this year, as well as a Friday night intertown school kids competition. Anyone interested in playing in either should contact Carolyn Alexander on 0427 668 062.
