Triples tournament success
Finley BC The Mark II Automotive Triples attracted 14 teams and all players enjoyed the facilities provided — fast greens, good opposition and good service from staff members.
The winning team comprised Alan Vinecombe, Laurie Vinecombe and Ophelia Cochrane with three games + 46 points; r-up with 21⁄ games and 40 shots were Graeme Chubb, Ron Pentland and Ash Haines.
The club appreciates this sponsorship and thanks the players for their support.
The Ladies Trade Day is well established and providing good opposition. Heather Tabe, Sheila Walsh and Lyn Bergmans were runners-up again, this time at Nathalia.
Sunday morning competition was won by Betty Robertson and Bob Poore with plus 10 shots.
The financial statement for the financial year 2017/18 is available at the club. The AGM has now been set for Tuesday, October 9 starting at 7pm. All members are invited to attend and welcome to make recommendations to the new board.
Pennant competition is rapidly approaching and all bowlers intending to be considered should have added their names to the list of available players. The opening round is October 12 and 13. It is hoped that all players have an enjoyable season.

Our team of Effie Eaton, Andrea Brown, Judy Harvie and Sheila Kufner unfortunately came up against an inform Cobram team who will now progress to the Central Goulburn Murray district section of the Bowls Victoria State Ladies Fours event.
The next few weeks will be busy with more state events, pennant and our club board events getting underway.
A number of members will be heading off to Alice Springs this week to compete in the Alice Springs Masters.
Barefoot Bowls starts with a warm-up game on Monday — don’t forget Daylight Saving starts this Sunday so make sure your clocks are on the right time to be at the club by 5.45pm for a 6.30pm start.
