The local group’s queen (president) Judi Anderson said it was a great achievement to reach nine years.

‘‘It’s all about having fun and that’s why we just keeping going; we’re ageing disgracefully,’’ she said with a laugh.

‘‘We’re about having a good time and catching up with like minded people.

‘‘We enjoy gathering for a lovely lunch, this year we’ve had three or four new people join including a lady from Tocumwal.

‘‘She used to be a red hat lady before she move to Tocumwal and then she found out we existed and couldn’t wait to join.

‘‘People do look at us funny or call us the ‘mad hatters’,’’ she said.
