Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club is embracing the Spring Racing Carnival with three big days next week and a racing theme.

Head on down to the club this Sunday to have a delicious carvery dinner then stick around to enter in the Melbourne Cup calcutta.

The winner will walk away with 60 per cent of the prize pool, with 25 per cent designated for second place and 10 per cent for third.

But don’t worry if your horse comes last in the big race because you will win five per cent of the prize pool.

Tickets for the calcutta are available at reception or Haynes Butchery on Deniliquin St. Draw starts at 7.30, tickets cost $5 each.

Make sure you book a table for the running of the 158th running of ‘the race that stops the nation’ on Tuesday November 6. Races are live on the big screen and sweeps will keep all entertained.

For the ladies the big day next week is on Thursday for the TGBC Oaks Day lunch.

Enjoy a two course lunch with entertainment provided by Mark Haze and make sure you dress in your best spring outfit for your chance to win in Fashions on the Field.

There will be a share of $1200 up for grabs for the three categories Classic Lady of the Day, Best Headwear and Contemporary Lady of the Day.

For more details about any upcoming events at the TGBC contact the club on 5874 9111.
