Southern Riverina news - - BERRIGAN GOLD CUP 2018 -

Tocumwal’s Under 16s fell four runs short of victory against the Finley/Jerilderie Combine lineup in an entertaining round two Murray Valley Cricket Association match last Friday night.

The Cats batted first, reaching 6/78 from their 20 overs.

For Tocumwal, Angus Bouchier produced a great spell taking 3/7 from his four overs.

In reply the Bloods were led by Jack Andrew with a stellar 28 at the top of the order and a handy 15 from Tom Barker.

But the win just eluded the Bloods with the Cats hanging on to win.

Two day cricket starts this week with the Bloods hosting Barooga on Friday night.

The Tocumwal Under 14s fell to the Berrigan/Jerilderie combine last week in a tight contest. The Combine reached 100 and the Bloods bowling was led by Alana Sutton who took a stunning 3 for 4 from three overs.

The Bloods batting fell 8 runs short all out for 92 but some good batting from Hunter Hardwidge (20) and Raymond Sutton (15) ensured the Bloods got very close to victory.

The Young Bloods travel to Scott Oval on Saturday 10th November to start a two day against CYU/Barooga. Oliver
