Finley’s history celebrated
One of Finley’s best little gems is celebrating 50 years this year and will mark the occasion later this month.
The Finley & District Historical Museum is inviting the public to share the occasion and learn more about the history of the town and district.
Making the occasion just that little bit more special will be one of the foundation members Henry Matheson OAM helping to unveil a plaque along with Member for Murray Austin Evans.
Secretary Maureen Bevan said it was important to celebrate the town’s most vital organisations. ‘‘It’s a wonderful little place,’’ she said. ‘‘We’re encouraging people to come and have a look at what we do and learn about the town history.
‘‘The celebrating is keeping in touch with the 125th Finley anniversary.’’
It promises to be a fun-filled day for all with classic car display, tractors, machinery, historic photos, memorabilia and much more.
Barbecue lunch is available at a small cost.
The Finley & District Historical Museum 50 year celebration is on November 24 from 10.30am until 3pm at the Mary Lawson wayside rest on Murray St.
