When was the last time you went to the dentist for a check-up?
Wellard Dental Village practice manager Meredith Dawson encourages people to have a dental check-up once every six months to ensure optimum mouth health.
“If you’re coming twice a year, visits will be nice and easy,” she said.
“Generally, when people are having six-monthly cleans and check-ups, if there is a tiny area of concern, it won’t get any bigger because our dentists will watch it and ensure it doesn’t progress.
“The maintenance of good oral health can also prevent further treatment and expense.”
The dental surgery offers new patients a check-up, clean, two X-rays and a fluoride treatment for $195, which is generally fully covered, dependant on health provider and level of cover.
All children’s recall check-up and cleans are also fully covered by private health insurance, so there is no out-of-pocket expense and the practice offers in-chair bleaching and

“Wellard Dental Village offers a state-of-the-art, modern, bright new surgery with the latest equipment and technology,” Ms Dawson said.
“We are lucky to have a vibrant and enthusiastic team who work six days a week, along with Monday and Tuesday evenings, to offer patients further convenience.
“We are really proactive in prevention to avoid further expensive work down the track and have an active six-monthly recall system.”
