Call for boat re­trieval pics

Af­ter the re­cent storm a 24-foot yacht broke its moor­ing and washed up on the beach at Safety Bay.

Own­er­ship of the yacht was handed over to young Rock­ing­ham res­i­dent Kane Ren­dell, who is par­tic­i­pat­ing in the mar­itime pro­gram at Rock­ing­ham Se­nior High School. The own­er­ship agree­ment stated it was up to him to re­move it from the beach.

With help from fam­ily and friends the mam­moth task be­gan and he spent two days dig­ging the sand out from in­side the hull.

The boat was re­turned to the wa­ter on Tues­day, May 31 in front of a crowd. If any­body cap­tured pho­tos or videos of the boat while it was be­ing re­trieved from the beach, please for­ward to ed­i­tor@soundtele­graph.com.au. Craig Ren­dell, Rock­ing­ham
