Bin rules reign ridiculous

Southern Telegraph - - Telegraph News - John Thompson Rockingham

These new bins are ridiculous.

We are just a family of two on a corner block and have already received a warning notice from Rockingham Waste Management for compacting this little bin, indicating that if this persists, it will not be emptied. Since the roll-out for green waste (lime-lid bin now already full awaiting start of collection) doesn’t start until July for my area, what, in the meantime do I do with my regular household and green waste?

Our council rates include waste management collection services.

It already appears the council is not providing the service we are paying for in our council rates.

Let us also not forget how we need to save our precious water, and yet we are being asked to rinse all containers before they are put in the recycling bin.

I for one hope this will help all Rockingham residents reduce next year’s waste management rates charges.
