Emerging snappers encouraged to enter competition
Entries for the City of Rockingham’s 2017 Act - Belong - Commit PhotoVoice competition are now open, with budding photographers urged to submit their pictures.
Now in its ninth year, the competition encourages amateur photographers to take a photograph and add a caption about all the different ways people can look after their mental health.
About 400 photos are submitted each year, featuring residents “acting, belonging and committing” in their everyday lives.
Photographs need to illustrate an aspect of the Act - Belong - Commit theme and can be entered under modified or non-modified styles, with categories for people of all ages.
City of Rockingham Mayor, and long-time supporter of the competition, Barry Sammels said PhotoVoice was a great way to discover new talent and illustrate new ways for people to stay mentally healthy.
“It’s always great to see the photographic talents of entrants displaying lots of different ways to look after our mental health,” he said.
