Movie favourites sure to delight kids

Southern Telegraph - - Telegraph News -

Entertaining the whole family during the school holidays is easy, thanks to a fantastic selection of movies at United Cinemas Rockingham.

One of the many films sure to keep children happy is Despicable Me 3.

The adventures of Gru, Lucy and their adorable daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes (and of course the minions) continue in the third instalment of the hit franchise.

Our heroes face a new nemesis, Balthazar Bratt — a former child star who has grown up to be obsessed with the character he played in the 80s.

Another kid-friendly release coming to United Cinemas Rockingham is Cars 3.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves.

To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns.

For superhero fans, the hit new movie Spiderman: Homecoming is a must-see. Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man.

For fast-paced action, do not go past Transformers: The Last Knight.

Humans are at war with the Transformers, and Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving the future lies buried in the secrets of the past and the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.

Lovers of the book series will also enjoy the newest instalment in the series, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.

This year, United Cinemas will again be screening some of the latest box office hits in its outdoor setting.

The open-air cinema, directly behind the original United Cinemas building, has room for 300 deckchairs and has become a hit with Rockingham families.

United Cinemas team members Hannah Council, Monica Jensen and Ben Seddon take advantage of the new open air cinema.
