The City of Rock­ing­ham is propos­ing a new tourism model with a fo­cus on the on­line plat­form — with the Rock­ing­ham Vis­i­tor Cen­tre po­ten­tially to be closed within the next two years. Peo­ple ex­pressed their opin­ions on the Tele­graph’s Facebook page.

We need a place for tourists to find out how to spend their money in this re­gion. I hope this cen­tre stays open. Ally Lamont

Scary con­sid­er­ing a lot of the older gen­er­a­tion do not have in­ter­net and us younger ones won't pay the ex­or­bi­tant fees for roam­ing. Tr­isha Atkin­son

Maybe it could be a lit­tle more in­ter­ac­tive. Have a great cof­fee shop in the same premises of­fer­ing lo­cal bev­er­ages and foods to en­cour­age a visit to our lo­cal winer­ies. Grace Lovell

A vis­i­tor cen­tre is im­por­tant to fo­cus on push­ing out in­for­ma­tion about our area. Not all peo­ple are tech savvy and have in­ter­net read­ily avail­able. I do but I al­ways use a vis­i­tor cen­tre when­ever I travel. Rosie O’Don­nell
