Competition a springboard
Parmelia 3D digital game artist Alex Schmidt will represent Australia at the 44th WorldSkills International Competition in Abu Dhabi later this week.
The 21-year-old is one of three West Australians to compete in the competition, which is the pinnacle for young skilled professionals working in a trade or vocational field.
Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery paid tribute to Mr Schmidt and the rest of the Australian team.
“The WorldSkills International Competition gives our most talented tradespeople the opportunity to show their abilities on the world stage, while inspiring others to potentially gain a qualification themselves,” she said.
“The Western Australian Skillaroos are all deserving of their place on the international team and should be proud of their achievements so far.”
