Let’s celebrate peace, not war

Southern Telegraph - - Opinion -

I saw the ad in the Sound Telegraph (24/10) for the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice ball.

I wonder if all the people who support Anzac Day (the commemoration of the start of the bloody, brutal defeat of the Australian and New Zealand military when they attacked Turkey on April 25, 1915) will celebrate the end of the WWI slaughter (on both sides), or are they so blinded by the act of war and heroism that the outbreak of peace will go unnoticed?

May the ball be a success and may the celebration of peace take over the commemoration of war in the future.
