Free course to boost food skills

ALL food han­dlers are re­quired to have skills and knowl­edge in food safety and food hy­giene matters.

South­ern Downs Re­gional Coun­cil is help­ing food busi­nesses meet th­ese obli­ga­tions by pro­vid­ing free ac­cess to an I’m Alert Food Safety on­line train­ing tool.

The pro­gram is easy to fol­low, in­cludes an en­ter­tain­ing pre­sen­ta­tion as well as in­ter­ac­tive quizzes.

A train­ing ac­knowl­edge­ment form can be printed upon com­ple­tion and be kept as part of staff records.

The coun­cil web­site also pro­vides other fact sheets for food busi­nesses on food li­cens­ing, the ap­pli­ca­tion process and a range of gen­eral food safety in­for­ma­tion.
