Stanthorpe Border Post - - LIFE - — President Lion Stuart Perrett

LIONS members and a few tag-alongs have set off to follow in Captain Thunderbolt’s footsteps, but to raise funds for charities like the Royal Flying Doctors and LifeFlight.

Nine cars, towing caravans or camper trailers, set off recen tly for a 17-day adventure.

While travelling the back roads through n orthern NSW the group will socialise and see many places that you just don’t get to see.

Towns that the group are visiting include, Ashford (Pindari Dam), Uralla, Wollomombi Falls, Dorrigo, Nymboida, Mininie Water, Bonalbo, Queen Mary Falls and Killarney.

On the final night, the Lions Club of Killarney will put on a dinner and auction to raise funds from items gathered along the journey.

The Lions Outback Adventure Tour, organised by members to different parts of Australia (one tour has even travelled to New Zealand), has been running for the past 16 years, raising funds for various charities, plus injecting funds directly into small outback towns along the way.

The group is looking at travelling to Far North Queensland (Tablelands) next year, so if you are interested in joining in on the fun contact the Lions Club.
