Interesting guest speakers at Probus

Stanthorpe Border Post - - LIFE -

THE guest speaker at our most recent meeting was Ian Barnden from the local fire service.

Mr Barnden spoke of the many ways to put out a kitchen fire and one thing not to do was carry the burning saucepan outside, because drips of melting liquid could create more spot fires.

Another interesting point was that in the next 10 years, all bedrooms will need a smoke alarm, which must be interconnected.

Newcomer to the district, Keith Jones gave an interesting insight to his many moves around the country and overseas during his career in the navy and as a house painter.

Thanks for retiring in Stanthorpe.

There are a few vacancies on our bus trip to the Toowoomba gardens on Tuesday, September 19.
